Work Update

1) This Wednesday I'll be playing my second show in my new home town, Portland. The show is at Berbati's Pan on SW 3rd. Doors are at 8:30 and I will be performing first, followed by Elodie O and Logan Lynn. I will be joined by cellist Erin Hunt. It will be worth your $6. If you're not in the area, please take a moment to tell someone who is!

2) I got a bit giddy with my new pump organ and I wanted to record it, so I tracked this song that's been knocking around in my head for two months. It's called "Are You Brave?" and you can hear it on my myspace page.

3) The next single from my upcoming full-length Home will be a song called Coffeelocks, and it will be released on iTunes January 13th. To help it go down smooth, we will also be handing over a magic b-side called Shell, produced by Zach Lipkins. For up-to-the-minute info on anything Home-related, follow me on Twitter.

4) Eenie Meenie Records will be dropping a nasty remix of the Wallpaper dance anthem T-Rex by none other than my favorite neo-hipsters Skabb on Dec 23rd for their T-Rex RMXD EP.

5) This month I'm mixing four or five tracks I had produced for Blak Lungz (vocalist of FL drum-n-bass/hip hop band One Drop) back in 2006. He hopes to compile them with some other tracks and release them as a neo-R&B record sometime in 2009.

6) gavincastleton.com will be getting a face lift this month. Look for a whole new ball of wack on New Year's!

7) I'm looking for a very nimble-fingered bassist and an able-armed drummer to form a monstrous rhythm section to play my music. You must:
a. enjoy being challenged musically
b. be able and eager to tour aggressively
c. have video and/or audio of your playing, as diverse in style and difficulty as possible
d. be able to make rehearsals in Portland, OR

If you or someone you know are interested, please email me at gavin@gavincastleton.com.

I'm interested... but the fact that I'm still not sure what time signature 2007 is in probably disqualifies me as a drummer...
