Sky Piece

A piece of the sky came falling down
landed in the snow by my house
I woke in the night
and walked outside
to see what the noise was about

And there in the white I could see
something as dark as the sky
and it only occurred to me what it was
when the stars started falling by.

So I picked up the skypiece and brought it inside
put it at the foot of my bed
I couldn't get to sleep with the stars at my feet
so I put it in the bathtub instead.

Now every time I take a shower
I do it in thunder and rain
and every time I need a rainbow
I look for it down the drain.
